DCL Crawley have completed installation of a second Xerox Rialto 900 Inkjet Press to support the continued growth of the digital printing department.
The Rialto 900 Inkjet Press is a fully integrated, roll to cut sheet inkjet press which can print a range of media from 90-160 gsm uncoated, untreated, inkjet treated and inkjet matte coated media at speeds of approx 170 duplex A4 sheets per minute cut to size with an integrated inline guillotine cutter.
The Rialto install was complemented by the install of a third Xerox Nuvera 144ea press, and the upgrade of our existing Nuvera presses with additional feeder and delivery units.
The Crawley based digital printing department now boasts 9 digital presses, and a range of digital finishing systems.
As part of a series of investments DCL Print has continued to grow our digital print department with the installation of a 3rd Xerox iGen digital press. This third machine, an iGen 150, allows DCL Print additional print capacity, and faster turnaround times whilst never sacrificing the quality we established two years ago when we installed our first iGen. Installed at our Crawley site, our main digital printing department now boasts an impressive 6 presses (4 colour, and 2 mono) and can handle a wide range media and finishing requirements.
Also installed at DCL Print's Crawley site is a Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 74 10 colour perfector. The installation of this new press increases both our sheet-fed capacity and our production speed at the same high quality we have always offered. This new press is complemented by our existing onsite finishing and binding capabilities.
With DCL Print offering a complete range of print solutions, we are delighted to announce our investment in a fast, modern Muller Martini Concept 520 eight colour continuous web offset printing press with uv drying, installed at our Wotton-under-Edge site in Gloucestershire. This machine is ideal for direct mail, security printing, forms, labels, letterheads, pharmaceutical inserts, commercial web offset and much more.
Printweek Article: "Trade printer DCL Print has invested in a Xerox Rialto 900 Inkjet Press to support its growth and boost its flexibility."
DCL, which operates in the transactional mailing, security, label, commercial and business forms sectors, bought the device from Xerox reseller Xeretec.
The press will be installed at the firm’s Crawley site in the summer. The business, which also operates a second site in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, signed for the machine at last week’s Hunkeler Innovationdays event in Lucerne, Switzerland, where the press was launched.
Printweek Article: Trade printer DCL Print has invested in a Fujifilm Acuity 1600 LED to expand its business into wide-format.
The UV inkjet printer was installed at the firm’s Crawley, West Sussex facility in June. The company also operates a second site in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire.
The firm, which operates in the transactional mailing, security, label, commercial and business forms sectors, started to receive an increasing number of requests for wide-format jobs such as posters and displays.
“We can now bring in-house jobs that we’d have turned away before, so we’ve got a lot more control. It’s more convenient and there’s more profit in it for us as well,” said studio manager Andrew Ray.
Printweek Article: DCL Print signed for a Xerox 150 from reseller Xeretec on Monday as part of its strategy to boost its colour variable data capabilities and accelerate the migration of short-run litho work to digital.
The firm will take the iGen 150 straight off of Xeretec’s stand when the show closes and according to DCL group managing director Simon Smode he didn’t come to the show with the intention of signing for the 150.
In fact Smode said he shouldn’t have been at the show at all on Monday, and was only here are after a diary mix-up, but after negotiating a “show price” he decided to add the 150 to the firm’s battery of seven sheetfed and continuous Xerox presses, all supplied by Xeretec in partnership stretching back a decade.
